Aaw,I hope people in general don't kill these animals,as any animal,it has its place in nature and if the population would ever think of the future as opposed to the moment at hand,a lot of animals would not only intellectually be left alone but also respectfully. Most snakes want nothing to do w humans,as most creatures smarter than we! Thank you for the information and also the education, and best wishes to the ringnecks and so many other species reptile and otherwise.

Hi - I came across your website while looking for information on getting rid of a snake in our basement (I sure hope it's only one...). We found the first skin about six months ago and the second and third one in the previous month and week, respectively. We live in the Arlington VA area and have seen black snakes, garter snakes, and copperheads in our yard. Our basement attracts mice and I have to admit that we haven't seen any evidence of mice so far this fall.... If you need us to mail you the skins, we can do that, but I was hoping that you might be able to tell from the attached photographs. If you have additional questions about our findings, please feel free to email me. Thank you!

Can you help me identify whether venomous or not? I'm not sure these photos will help, if a different view, closer, etc let me know. It is approximately 2 feet long and since I have never seen a snake skin before I cannot tell if it is the entire skin (i.e. is the tail missing?). If the tail is attached it is single sub-caudal scales and that really scares me.
