Springfield Missouri Snake Situation: Hi, I came across your website today after my wife found a snake skin in our house. It was in sliding door track on the inside of the back bedroom of our house. We don't spend much time back in there and aren't sure how long the shed has been there. We have recenlty been digging in our backyard to put in a patio so we might have stirred some things up but how it got in the house is a mystery. Total length is approx 15 inches. We live in Springfield MO. I've attached pictures of the shed to hopefully allow you to identify the species. Thank you very much for any input you can provide.

I came across your website on the internet and am accepting your invitation to send copies of snakeskin pictures to you for identification. As you can see from the tape measure next to the snakeskin that I placed in the bed of my truck, the skin measures greater than 51 inches in length. I found this while I was mowing some acreage last week that my family owns just south of Burleson, Texas, which is a suburb south of Springfield MO. The area that I was mowing is close to a creek and several stock ponds, and the grass was about a foot high. I have seen many snakes there over the years, but this is the first time that I ever came across a snakeskin that long. Needless to say, I am looking forward to hearing back from you. Thanks.
