South Bend Indiana Snake Situation: Dear mr. Snake man, I work for a Girl Scout camp in South Bend IN, as the arts and crafts specialist, and have had a recent infestation of snakes in the craft house where I spend most of my time. It is a very old, garage-like building full of clutter that usually has a few rodent inhabitants, so it doesn't surprise me that snakes would move in. However, I am concerned about the possible safety risks of having snakes in a building that is inhabited by children most of every day. I have been gone at another camp for the last few weeks, but my coworkers say that they were finding snakes I the craft house on a daily basis last week, and all of them were black. Most of the snakes seem to have been in cupboards or dark spaces. I found a snake skin this morning wrapped around a container of beads on top of the counter that was kind of coiled, but decently long, and somewhat thickish. The head was also thicker than the body part of the skin. I do not have a picture of the snake skin at the moment, but would like to send one soon for the snake skin identification. I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have on safe removal/prevention (cleaning out the clutter isn't an option-I've tried), and any warnings if this sounds like a dangerous snake. If it is a cause for concern, please contact me at. Thank you so much for providing such an informational website.
