Paterson New Jersey Snake Situation: Hi, My name is Annie and I'm not really scared of snakes I just don't want to walk up on one and get bit at home. I clean out my garage a couple times a year. Our garage is carpeted as it used to be an apartment but now back to storage. Last fall I was cleaning it out and found snake skin on the carpet in between boxes (I figure good place to get the skin off) so I picked it up and threw it away. Well today I cleaned it out and again found snake skin around the same place. I was not thinking and again threw it away. I'm in there often on the outer edge of the boxes and storage. My question is do you think it's just shedding skin in my garage or living There? Living in the suburbs around Nashville TN you never know what we will find. Though the only snake I've ever seen was a little garden snake. Thanks for any help and answers you can give me!
I found it in my backyard tonight. Could you please identify which snake could it be ? With 2 kids in the house Im pretty concerned right now.
was just reading a hospital guide to snake wound and they said never wash the area because you will remove things that can help identify the type of snake. It did not say why exactly, snake DNA? traces of venom that may be there? Not sure really, just thought I would pass it on.
