Oakland California Snake Situation: Hi, Thank you for taking your time to help identify this skin. We found this under our deck which is cemented and brick columns. Our wood deck sits about 6 feet above it. We have a privacy fence made of PVC not much spacing except between doors. It sits about 8 feet off ground. We have a pool with massive cement decking around it. We have 4 indoor dogs that we let out here because we live on 5 acres of land surrounded by areas that could have deadly snakes. 3 are small dogs poodle, jack Russell and a Maltese, so we are very concerned. Also, the 4th dog is a indoor lab. We also have a pet rabbit that we keep in the house, but do let him out daily on wood deck (upper) to hop around in an enclosed area. We have found in the past a king snake, brown snake, rat snake, ring necked snake. brown water snake all pretty small and juvenile over the years in our fenced area. Thank you for your help at identifying this skin. My boys are 17 and we have research snakes in the past and know about the scales underside and identifying poisonous vs. non p. These scales on this skin go all the way across in one row on the underside of the tail, instead of 2 rows from the vent to the tip of the tail. Can you tell anything by the snake skin and the underside scales. I have many more pictures I can send, but I am computer challenged so I might have to send one at a time. Blessings to you! Penny
