Madison Wisconsin Snake Situation: Please help us!!! My father has recently found 2 snakes in his house in Madison WI. He has lived there over 40 years and has never had this problem. About 3 weeks ago, he walked in from outside and saw a snake slither underneathe the cook stove in his kitchen. He pulled the stove out later and did not see the snake anywhere, but did find an opening the size of a door threshold behind the stove. He boarded that up and sealed it good. Later that nite he heard something in the kitchen and a snake 4 foot long and 2 inches in diameter, a black snake, was on a shelf up high in his kitchen. He proceeded to kill it with a 22 pistol. He was creeped out but glad he found it and killed it!! He thought that was the end.......Well approx. 3 weeks later he found another one hanging from his ceiling fan in his living room. This one was approx. 2-3 feet long and smaller around. It was the actual one that he had seen slide under the stove, it matched the size better that he saw. He killed this one too. My question to you is, do you think they both came in the same time and that one was just getting hungry so was starting to come out of hiding? Do you think there would be more and what are the chances of there being baby snakes???? Eeek!!!! What do we need to do, search the house up and down, nothing, ??? My father is 70 years old and just lost my mother I hate to see him living in terror of snakes. I'm not sure if we need to get traps, or call in the professionals or what. Please help us!!!!!
