If you feel that snakes have decided to stay in your yard, and you are seeing them frequently enough to warrant removal, there are a few choices to accomplish that goal. The vegetation and debris around your yard is ultimately what makes a snake want to stay. Stone fences, woodpiles, and cracked patios are all ideal snake den sites. I tried calling Orlando animal country today but was unable to get through. Perhaps you can help, or point me in the right direction. There are some folks on YouTube posting atrocious animal cruelty videos. In the only one I watched, there is a teenager who picks up a snake by the tail (looks to be a rat snake) and smashes its head by swinging it around and hitting it on the sidewalk. Of the other videos I could not watch, there are titles like 'how to kill a snake' and 'rattlesnake blown up by fireworks.' I would like charges to be brought against these teens so they might understand how wrong they are and the importance of all life. If behavior like this isn't curbed early, these guys could move on to other animals and even people. Please let me know if you can do something or if I need to get in contact with someone else. It is very possible I have a snake in my basement. I have found a piece of shedding. I do not know how long it has been there an I do not know if it is in the house or not. All I know is that it has been in the house. I do not know what type it is but I know I need help in locating it if it is in here.
